Moon Pie’s First Farrow

Red Wattle Sow

Almost ready to farrow

Moon Pie, our Red Wattle Pig,  had her first farrow (our’s too) March 15, 2014. She picked the coldest day in March so far. We had high winds and snow and temperatures dipped down into the 20s. 7 tiny red wattle piglets with 14 teeny tiny wattles. They’re all healthy and doing fine.  Our little runt is holding her own and so far it looks like no problems there. They’re all faring well in the barn snuggled in straw with some shop lights for  heat.
